Plymouth’s Faculty of Business has an outstanding reputation for high quality postgraduate teaching, technology enhanced learning, innovative research and was shortlisted for Business School of the Year in the Times Higher Education Awards 2012.

Plymouth Graduate School of Management
Plymouth Graduate School of Management postgraduate courses provide an advanced route to accelerating your career. MSc Business and Management (MBM):
The overall aim of the MBM is to bring graduates of any discipline up to speed in the terminology, techniques and skills required to become a business leader. This programme is a fully qualified masters programme and is recognised around the globe as a leading educational qualification.
Our programme goes beyond just instilling in you a thorough grounding in vital business processes and management practices, and the contexts in which they operate. It will challenge you to explore your self-awareness, your value system and your motivations.
You will sharpen your critical thinking skills and establish your own individual innovative style and creative approach so when you address your final successful career choice, you will be a confident, resourceful and adaptable manager. Building on the programme’s core of strategic level business and management principles, we will introduce you to theories and practices that will deepen your understanding of relevant disciplines and functions that operate in contemporary organisations.
School of Law, Criminology and Government
The School takes a real-world approach to teaching and learning with a focus on the development of a wide range of transferable skills to aid employability in a variety of careers.
The School unites the inter-related disciplines of Law and Criminology, embracing a wide range of specialist topics, including Law, Policing, Environment, Courts, Youth Justice, Applied Strategy and many more. The centre’s research broadly focuses on furthering reform, improving responses and strengthening regulation of legal and Criminal Justice issues. With solid teaching and research strengths in International Relations, Politics, Sociology and Public Services we deliver the most engaged, entrepreneurial and employable graduates. By bringing together specialist expertise and listening to the changing demands of the market place, the School is able to offer a comprehensive, contemporary range of approaches to the study of politics and learning within the public sector itself.
MA International Relations: Global Security and Development
Our programme is designed to address how and why underlying issues such as poverty, disease, environmental degradation, societal inequalities and politics create the international framework in which security conflicts emerge. Graduates with the MA in International Relations will not only leave with a sophisticated understanding of the dynamics that drive global politics but the ability to utilise this knowledge in fields as diverse as diplomacy, journalism, finance, industry, public relations, risk analysis and lobby work - either in the public, commercial or NGO sector.
The programme can be tailored to your interests, and is particularly appropriate for students with qualifications in one or a combination of these subjects: Development Studies, Economics, Geography, History, International Relations, Language and Cultural Studies, Law, Philosophy, Politics or Sociology.
School of Tourism and Hospitality
Our programmes are aimed at future managers within the tourism and hospitality sectors who wish to develop a strategic perspective while enhancing their management skills. The programmes reflect change in theory, practice and services management. All modules are developed and led by experienced staff with a range of research interests which include tourism and economic development, innovation in tourism, leadership and marketing, and tourism, crime and terrorism. Students will have the opportunity to interact with academics and professional experts from the industry.
MSc International Hospitality Management
This dynamic programme has been designed for graduates or industry professionals who want to progress their career and those who are considering starting a new business within this exciting industry. The programme has a strong focus on management at both strategic and operational levels and has been designed to provide students with an understanding of the current practical and theoretical issues within the hospitality industry.
Students will be taught by experts in the field of hospitality management, with a strong focus on international hospitality management, while at the same time building on the regional strengths in the south west of England.
